BABEL RULED OUT

Ajax have said that their midfielder Ryan Babel is not expected to be back into the first-team action before New Year at least after suffering an injury. The former Liverpool forward suffered a shoulder injury while playing against Zwolle in the Eredivisie. The 4-2 victory for Ajax in this match was quickly forgotten following this serious injury to one of the important players of the team. This shoulder injury has ruled out Ryan Babel of the first team action at least until New Year according to the manager. The 25-year-old has been at his former club this summer after sealing a move from the German club Hoffenheim after failing to settle at his previous clubs.

Ryan Babel has many years to forget in his career after he has stagnated since moving to Liverpool as a 20-year-old. Since then, he has signed for the German club Hoffenheim. Even though his first season with the German club was good, the club has decided to part ways with the midfielder. Since his return to Ajax, he has been one of the important players for the team and will be a major miss in the upcoming matches. Meanwhile, the manager Frank de Boer has suggested that he will be making a few additions to the team through the January transfer window.

“Good players are always welcome. But you have to be careful, you might think that you need a certain player without realising you have cover. Suppose we move for a striker in the winter, and then Kolbeinn Sigthorsson and Ryan Babel both return to fitness, then we have Danny Hoesen, Siem de Jong and Christian Eriksen. We also have to remember the youth players who jump at the chance to make the step up. That is the power of Ajax,” said Frank de Boer.
