West Brom striker Mbaye Niang has received the seal of approval from Galatasaray teammate Ryan Babel in his quest to spearhead the relegation battle for his new team between now and the rest of the season. Mbaye Niang signed for West Brom on loan from Galatasaray and the Senegalese attacker has been able to breath life into the dwindling fortunes of the Baggies in the bid for Premier League survival.
MbayeNiang was a thorn in the flesh of the Manchester United players when the Baggies played hosts to the Red Devils at the weekend as West Brom boss Sam Allardyce was able to get his battling message across to his players. MbayeNiang scored his first goal for West Brom in the Premier League under two minutes via a header after he outmuscled Swedish centre back Victor Lindelof. West Brom fought hard to keep that advantage until Manchester United talisman Bruno Fernandes produced a moment of genius to score the equaliser for the Red Devils on the stroke of half-time.
It was a big blow for the Baggies but that didn’t stop them from continuing with their task of stopping Manchester United after the interval. MbayeNiang could have even won the game for West Brom if he was ruthless in the final third. After the game, he took to his official Instagram account to say that the Baggies will continue to fight in the quest to survive relegation this season and it got the approval of Dutch international Ryan Babel, Senegalese international teammate Idrissa ‘Gana’ Gueye and West Brom teammate Okay Yokuslu. Okay Yokuslu was also impressive in the home game against Manchester United before he was substituted in the second half. Ryan Babel and IdrissaGueye know all about the Premier League as conveyed potentially in their reply to MbayeNiang. Ryan Babel previously played for Liverpool and Fulham in the Premier League, while IdrissaGueye featured prominently for clubs like Aston Villa and Everton in the Premier League.
