Ajax is one of the one of the most talked about clubs in Europe as the Dutch club is being linked with a number of players as well as also being rumored on having their own coach, Frank de Boer leave the team and join Newcastle United but this was denied by the Dutch manager a few days ago.
“I’ve read about the rumors. Newcastle is a sleeping giant, a great club with a fantastic stadium and supporters. But I will stay at Ajax for the second half of the season, at least. If a good club comes in the summer, I will think about it.”
I feel flattered that my name is continuously linked with Newcastle. But it is not a club I have ambitions for now. They are a sleeping giant and I love their fans. They also have fantastic facilities. But I don’t want to think about joining them. I prefer to put my energy into other things.” Fran de Boer said as he shut down all of the rumors that were linking him to the Premier League club Newcastle United.
The staff members of Newcastle United were taking into consideration Frank de Boer as a possible coach of the English team after he managed to win 4 successive Eredivisie titles with Ajax and the football authorities in Newcastle were hoping that Boer could bring that kind of success to the St. James Park but it will not happen as the manager is just not interested in taking up that managerial position.
The future of Frank de Boer is tied with Ajax and the Dutch club has also managed to secure the 18 year old Cameroonian goal-keeper Andre Onana from Barcelona.
Andre Onana had already signed a deal with Ajax which would see him performing with the Dutch club when the current season reaches it’s end but now a new deal has been confirmed and Onana has officially joined Ajax on a long term contract which expires in 2018.
